    and, no I don't want more commands - I'll shell into Terminal to do some real power searches, but when I don't need that, I need a much better thought out system than the rubbish that Apple has served up.

    a copy-and-paste-able address bar would be a bloody good start...

    Click and hold on the folder on the title bar until it turns gray, then drag it were you want it (into terminal, or text edit for example)
